Photocooperative FAQs

What is Photocooperative?

Photocooperative is a website designed to connect the buyers and the sellers of commercial photography. We are not involved in any transactions, conversations, or dealings between the buyers and the sellers. We are simply an environment to allow connections to happen. Assignment, Stock, and Fine Art are our categories.

How much does it cost?

We are offering a month of free service to our new members. After that period of time, we charge $150 /per year, /per ad (up front … $12.50 average /per month) … or $22.50 /per month, paid each subsequent month. If our service is not for you, there’s no obligation to continue.

How does it work?

Go to our “contact” tab on our home page, and let us know what you’d like to do. We’ll immediately get back to you, and answer any questions that you might have. Then we can get you started. You can create 1, 2 or 3 free ads, in your trial period (1 for each category, if you wish). Again … Assignment, Stock, and Fine Art are the categories.

Does it cost me anything to get this started?

Absolutely not. We’ll start your 30-day trial immediately. As we approach the end of the month, we’ll get back to you to see if you’d like to continue.

After you create my ad(s), how do I prepare my files?

Our admin area is built within WordPress. It’s very easy to organize the content in your ad. We limit the number of photos to 25, /per ad. You will manage your content (biography, your location and social media addresses, your contact information, and your images). We want you to upload cropped finals that are 1300 pixels, to the long dimension, 72 dpi, sRGB, and jpeg. You can crop your files within our environment, but we strongly suggest that you don’t do that. Our system will not allow individual images to be larger than 2 megabytes a piece.

How will people find my ad?

Our plans are to develop, and fine-tune a search mechanism within the site. We are going to market Photocooperative in many social media outlets, we’re planning an email campaign through Agency Access, and we will rotate/expand the visuals within, and feature members throughout the site. There will also be some public relations efforts, and media relations.

What is the mission statement?

Photocooperative is a very reasonably priced, promotional website, designed to help photographers get their works exposed to a grand audience. We offer an environment that allows photographers individuality, with direct connections between the buyers and the sellers of commercial photography. We’re recruiting photographers from all over the world to get involved. This is a grass-roots effort, created by a photographer, for photographers. We are vetting our members before we offer them our free 60-day trial, designed to ensure that we offer what we promise … a vast network of commercial photographers, with a wide world of possibilities.
